"summary": "Yemeni government forces carried out a series of airstrikes on Houthi positions in Taiz province. According to the Yemeni armed forces spokesperson, 20 strikes were conducted over three hours, targeting Houthi movements, reinforcements, gatherings, personnel, vehicles, and military equipment.\n\nThe airstrikes come amid intensified fighting between government forces and Iran-backed Houthi rebels around the strategic city of Taiz. The city is vital due to its geography, linking the Houthi-held north and government-held south, as well as the Red Sea coast.\n\nThe renewed fighting in Yemen has resulted in the displacement of over 133,000 people, mostly from Taiz and Lahj, with the number expected to rise, according to the UN. The UN Special Envoy for Yemen, Hans Grundberg, expressed alarm at the developments in Taiz, where fighting has significantly intensified.",
