"summary": "Taiwan has received its first two US-made F-16V fighter jets. The jets, manufactured by Lockheed Martin, arrived at an air force base in Taitung on the island's southeast coast.\n\nThe F-16Vs are part of an $8 billion deal for 66 fighter jets approved during US President Donald Trump's first term. The delivery was scheduled for this year.\n\nChina claims Taiwan as part of its territory and has threatened to use force to seize it. The arrival of the jets comes as Taiwan awaits Washington's approval of a separate $14 billion arms package, which Trump paused after Chinese objections.",
