"account": "The University of Hyderabad's Students' Union elections for the 2026-27 academic year have seen a significant shift in power, with the left combine emerging victorious. This reversal of roles follows the previous contest in 2025-26, which saw the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad-Sevalal Vidyarthi Dal (ABVP-SLVD) claim all six executive positions.\n\nThe left alliance, comprising All India Students' Association (AISA), Ambedkar Students' Association (ASA), Democratic Students' Union (DSU), Students' Federation of India (SFI), and Tribal Student's Forum (TSF), has secured the presidency and other key positions. Dilshada Raihan, a Ph.D. candidate in Philosophy representing SFI, has been elected as the president, securing a margin of over 450 votes over her ABVP candidate opponent Naresh P.\n\nOther elected office bearers include Korra Nithin Chauhan from IMA Language Sciences as Vice-President, Pratik Sagar from IMA History as General Secretary, Sidhant Sashwat from Ph.D. Political Science as Joint Secretary, Abinash Kumar from MPA Music as Cultural Secretary, and Banoth Sai from IMSC Chemistry as Sports Secretary.\n\nFive of the six executive positions in the central panel went to the Left combine, with only Banoth Sai and Vislavath Jiyasherin, a Gender Sensitization Committee Against Sexual Harassment representative, being the lone victors from ABVP-SLVD. This turn of events marks a dramatic shift in the power dynamics of the University of Hyderabad's Students' Union elections, contrasting sharply with the ABVP's historic seven-year winning streak in the previous contest.",
