"summary": "Lee Chean Chung has resigned as the Member of Parliament for Petaling Jaya, effective immediately. He announced his decision at a press conference, citing his refusal to accept a salary as a lawmaker while being sidelined by his party, PKR. According to Lee, he received a formal suspension notice from PKR on September 30.\n\nLee stated that he could not \"continue accepting a salary as a member of parliament while simply sitting silently like a stump.\" He has also announced plans to resign from PKR, with New Straits Times reporting that he will submit his resignation letter by October 5.\n\nThe suspension notice from PKR reportedly included a three-year suspension of Lee's party membership, although this detail was only mentioned in the New Straits Times report. Lee's resignation as Petaling Jaya MP and his impending party resignation have been attributed to the suspension by PKR.",
