"summary": "The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) announced a pan-India protest on October 2, 2026, demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and criminal action against him. The protest, beginning in Mumbai’s Shivaji Park, is part of a series of demonstrations planned across seven cities, culminating at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar. However, the Delhi Police has refused permission for a demonstration at Jantar Mantar due to alleged irregularities in the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls, leading to tightened security across Central Delhi. Meanwhile, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar criticized the appointment of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, alleging that the selection process lacked constitutional basis and could undermine democracy and voting rights.",
