"summary": "The Island Sri Lanka reports that a cameraman working for a private media organisation has been arrested for allegedly assaulting a security officer who was assigned to former President Ranil Wickremesinghe. The incident took place on Wednesday, 30th, as Wickremesinghe was departing from the Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court after a court hearing related to alleged misuse of public funds. Footage captured by other journalists at the scene appears to show the cameraman striking the security officer on the head with his camera. Following the assault, the security officer was taken to the hospital for treatment after filing a complaint with the police. The cameraman was apprehended the following day after voluntarily reporting to the Kompannavidiya Police station to provide a statement, accompanied by a lawyer.",
