"summary": "Former NSA Director-General Yaw Ampofo Ankrah has expressed disappointment over his suspension by President John Dramani Mahama, citing a lack of opportunity to explain his side of the alleged visa facilitation controversy tied to the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The controversy arose following allegations that around US$623,000 was received from prospective travellers seeking assistance with visa applications and travel arrangements for the tournament. Ampofo Ankrah, who remains calm despite his removal, stated that he had not been given a chance to discuss the situation. He emphasized his focus on preparing the Accra Sports Stadium and other NSA facilities for upcoming national assignments, particularly those involving the Black Stars. Professor Emmanuel Osei Sarpong has since been appointed as Acting Director-General of the National Sports Authority.",
