"summary": "Political Science lecturer Dr Kwasi Amakye-Boateng has dismissed concerns that Mahamudu Bawumia and Paul Awentami Afoko should be excluded from leadership roles in the NPP due to their northern backgrounds. Speaking on Ghanakoma morning show, he argued that the issue would be immaterial if both leaders were capable of contributing to the party's objectives. Dr Amakye-Boateng emphasized that the NPP's history shows that competence and the ability to contribute have often taken precedence over individuals' specific backgrounds. He pointed out that political opponents often resort to trivialities like regional background when they have little else to argue, and cited Bawumia's rise within the party as an example of the party's history of supporting people based on their competence.",
