"summary": "Nigerian scrap and waste dealers have begun a 15-day nationwide warning strike. The strike, announced by the National Association of Scrap and Waste Dealers and Employers of Nigeria, is over a dispute with iron-smelting companies regarding scrap metal prices.\n\nThe association alleges that some foreign-owned steel companies have been unfairly reducing the prices they pay for scrap metal, resulting in significant losses for scrap dealers. According to Daily Trust, scrap dealers are losing between N3 million and N4 million on a single truckload due to the price reductions.\n\nThe strike, which started on October 1, involves a total cut-off of scrap supply to steel companies across the country. The association's Deputy National President warned that the strike would be extended indefinitely if no agreement is reached with the companies or the Federal Government during the warning period.",
