"account": "Three suspects, identified as Mahumudu Abdulai, Ganiu Sumaila, and Abdulai Salam, have been arrested in connection with the abduction of Ayuba Sumiya Mawudu, alias Haruna, according to the Northern Regional Police Command. The suspects were apprehended in Sang, Mion District, on September 29, 2026, after being contacted by the victim's family who demanded a GH¢100,000 ransom for his release. The abduction occurred on September 25, 2026, when four armed men attacked Mr. Mawudu at his residence in Dobini Bunban, a farming community near Yendi. The attackers also assaulted Mr. Mawudu's brother before taking him to an undisclosed location. Mr. Mawudu managed to escape from his captors and was taken to a health facility for medical attention by farmers in Sambu. The police, who visited the facility, identified the three suspects from photographs. Preliminary investigations suggest a possible link between the suspects and other robbery incidents in the area. The three suspects are currently in police custody and are assisting with the investigation, while efforts are ongoing to apprehend other accomplices and establish the complete circumstances surrounding the abduction.",
