"account": "On October 1, 2026, at Diveagar beach in Raigad, Maharashtra, eight students tragically drowned while reportedly ignoring warnings about a dangerous stretch of sea. The area had become hazardous due to rain-formed hollows, according to Bhau Salunkhe, owner of Mahakali Water Sports. The students arrived at the beach around 3 pm and entered the water by 4 pm, positioning themselves 4 to 5 feet from the coastline and 1.5 km from the designated water sports area. A water sports personnel was alerted at about 4:30 pm that a student had drowned, and four personnel, including Salunkhe, launched a rescue operation using a jet ski. They initially thought only one student had drowned, but as they searched, they recovered more bodies. The eighth body was found after seven others, with the entire recovery completed by 6 pm. Salunkhe stated that even during Ganpati festivities, the area was not being used for visarjan due to the hazardous conditions, and they had repeatedly warned the students not to enter the water. After all bodies were recovered, Salunkhe called an ambulance and notified the police.",
