"account": "Nollywood actress Sola Sobowale paid tribute to late veteran actor Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, known as Olu Jacobs, at a Night of Tribute hosted at Glover Memorial Hall in Lagos State. Jacobs, who passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84, had trained Sobowale in the Nigerian movie industry. Sobowale, also known as 'Toyin Tomato,' credited Jacobs for shaping her career, stating that \"Anytime I bring my wahala, he has this, Sola, No, No, No.\" The implication was that Jacobs provided caution and advice, evident in his famous hand gesture in movie scenes. Jacobs' son, Olusoji Jacobs, announced the actor's death on September 16, 2026. During the tribute, veteran actor Adebayo Salami also shared memories with Jacobs. Salami, known as 'Oga Bello,' recounted his first meeting with Jacobs in 1997 and how Jacobs offered valuable input on a script for 'Okunfa.' Salami emphasized Jacobs' professional nature and urged his children to immortalize his name. Jacobs, regarded as one of Nigeria's most talented actors, was honored by family members, friends, and various members of the movie industry, including Jide Kosoko, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Kate Henshaw, Afeez Oyetoro, Norbert Young, Femi Adebayo, and Funke Akindele.",
