"account": "Nollywood actress Sola Sobowale honored the late veteran actor, Oludotun Baiyewu Jacobs, popularly known as Olu Jacobs, for training her in the Nigerian movie industry. Jacobs passed away on September 16, 2026, at the age of 84. Sobowale, also known as 'Toyin Tomato,' made this statement during the Night of Tribute held at Glover Memorial Hall in Lagos State to commemorate the late actor. She recounted that when people admire her acting skills, they often fail to recognize the person who trained her - the renowned Olu Jacobs, a man of knowledge, wisdom, and selflessness. Sobowale recalled how Jacobs would caution and advise her, demonstrated through his famous hand gesture signaling both caution and advice. Veteran actor Adebayo Salami, who spoke at the tribute, also shared his experiences with Jacobs. Salami recalled their first meeting in 1997 and how Jacobs sent him the script for the movie 'Okunfa.' Despite Jacobs' initial reluctance, he eventually agreed to collaborate, contributing valuable insights to the script. Salami praised Jacobs for his professional approach and urged his children to keep immortalizing his name, ensuring his legacy would not be forgotten.",
