"summary": "HP has announced a new laptop, the OmniBook 5, which starts at $699.99 and features a 14-inch OLED display. According to Tom's Hardware, the laptop will be available in October 2026 and will come in several colors, including peony pink, starlit blue, smoke silver, and soft honeydew. The OmniBook 5 will be powered by Intel's Wildcat Lake chips, specifically the Intel Core 5 320 or Intel Core 7 350.\n\nThe laptop's specifications include 8, 12, or 16GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM, and 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD storage. The display is a 14-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1920 x 1200, and a touch or non-touch option. Mashable reports that a 2560 x 1600 OLED touch display is planned for March 2027. The laptop's battery life is claimed to be up to 42 hours, measured with local video playback.\n\nThe OmniBook 5 is positioned as a competitor to Apple's MacBook Neo, and its pricing and specifications are similar to those of other Windows-based laptops announced recently, such as Dell's 14S and Lenovo's IdeaPad Vibe lineup. According to The Verge, the laptop will be available with a range of configurations, including up to a Core 7 350 chip, 16GB of RAM, and a 1TB SSD.",
