"summary": "Dr Kwasi Amakye-Boateng, a Senior Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has expressed support for former National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Awentami Paul Afoko, in the party’s chairmanship race. Dr Amakye-Boateng believes Afoko is the best candidate to help rebuild the party, noting that he possesses the necessary credibility, reliability, and experience to strengthen confidence in the NPP. Afoko's previous experience within the NPP and his political background make him well-suited to spearhead a new identity for the party, according to Dr Amakye-Boateng. The NPP is set to hold its national executive elections on October 3, 2026, with four candidates—John Boadu, Sammy Crabbe, Afoko, and Boakye Agyarko—competing for the position.",
