"summary": "Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury has offered Mamata Banerjee a chance to rejoin the Congress party along with her remaining MLAs and MPs. According to The Hindu, Chowdhury said the Congress is prepared to accept her leadership in West Bengal.\n\nThe offer comes at a time when Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress party is facing an existential crisis following its defeat in the 2026 Assembly elections. The party has suffered a split, with 58 rebel MLAs backing expelled leader Ritabrata Banerjee as their Leader of the Opposition.\n\nNDTV reports that Mamata Banerjee and her party have been negotiating amid this rebellion-induced crisis. Chowdhury stated that there is no need for a separate entity and that the Congress would work with Banerjee if she were to join.",
