"account": "New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart has faced surgery for a severely injured left knee, sidelining him for the 2026 season. Jameis Winston will be the only credible quarterback on the roster after Russell Wilson left in May. After acquiring JJ McCarthy from Minnesota in exchange for a fifth round pick, the Giants are left with a challenging quarterback situation. McCarthy left the Minnesota Vikings with a weak QB room, seeing himself demoted to third string. With the preseason ahead, McCarthy is set to start at some point. The Giants have elite weapons for McCarthy to work with, but he must prove himself as a distributor. John Harbaugh, McCarthy's new head coach and brother of former Giants coach Jim Harbaugh, has a strong connection to the team. Dart remains the Giants' QB of the future, but with McCarthy's strong performance, it could alter the dynamic. Eli Manning, a New York Giants alum and his brother's former quarterback, emphasizes the importance of Dart's toughness and willingness to minimize injury risks.",
