"account": "The Punjab Wildlife Department has announced the opening of the legal waterfowl hunting season in the province, which will run from October 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027. According to the department's notification, hunters are permitted to hunt waterfowl only on Saturdays and Sundays, and they must possess a valid shooting permit prior to participating. A total ban on hunting has been imposed in all protected areas of Punjab. Hunters must adhere to the limits outlined in Schedule I of the Wildlife Act, with exceeding these limits considered an offense. Penalties for violations, including fines, imprisonment, or both, are stipulated under relevant wildlife laws. Additionally, hunting from vehicles is prohibited, and hunters are instructed to avoid damaging crops and private property. The department emphasized compliance with all wildlife laws and regulations, urging hunters to view hunting as a sport rather than merely a means to obtain meat. Wildlife authorities have pledged to closely monitor major hunting sites throughout the season, with Zonal, Regional, and District Wildlife Officers tasked with enforcing the rules and ensuring compliance.",
