"account": "Five Canadian provinces have announced upcoming increases to their minimum wages. According to government announcements, these wage hikes will start taking effect this year in Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan. The wage increases range from a 25 to 40 cent bump, with Ontario raising its minimum wage to $17.95 per hour, P.E.I. to $17.30, and Nova Scotia to $17.00. Manitoba's minimum wage will increase to $16.40, while Saskatchewan's will go up to $15.70. The changes aim to keep pace with the rising cost of living. However, Alberta, which currently has the lowest minimum wage in the country at $15 an hour, has not increased its wage since 2019. Nunavut, on the other hand, has already lifted its minimum wage at the beginning of September and now has the highest minimum wage in the country, just over $20 an hour.",
