"account": "Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury recently urged Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee to rejoin his party and accept her leadership in West Bengal. This appeal came as the TMC faces its deepest organizational crisis since its formation, following a defeat in the 2026 Assembly elections. A split within both the legislative and parliamentary wings of the party has led to a wider organizational battle over the party's identity and future. Chowdhury believes that TMC should work under Congress leadership, dismissing any baggage Banerjee might carry. The TMC, born out of Banerjee's break with the Congress in 1998, has dominated Bengal politics for 15 years after ending the Left Front's 34-year rule in 2011. However, its internal crisis has now led to TMC MP Saugata Roy stating that the party would only consider a proposal formally from the Congress leadership. Despite the TMC's internal struggles, the BJP has used the Congress-TMC exchange to argue that TMC's political purpose has been exhausted.",
