"account": "The minimum wage is set to increase in five Canadian provinces starting this year. Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, Manitoba, and Saskatchewan will see their hourly rates rise between 25 and 40 cents. Ontario will hike its minimum wage to $17.95, while Prince Edward Island will increase to $17.30, Nova Scotia to $17, Manitoba to $16.40, and Saskatchewan to $15.70. This move aligns with the rising cost of living, a factor cited by Ontario in justifying the hike. Alberta, however, will maintain the lowest minimum wage in the country at $15 an hour, as it has not raised the rate since 2019. Nunavut, on the other hand, currently has the highest minimum wage, surpassing $20 an hour. Nunavut implemented its increase at the start of September, leading the nation in this regard.",
