"summary": "Bukola Saraki, a former Senate President, has called on Nigerian youths to demand more from their elected leaders. He made this appeal as the nation marked its Independence Day.\n\nIn a separate incident, a protest broke out at PTI Junction in Delta State during a 5-kilometre Independence Day Run. The youths had gathered for the exercise but were given T-shirts bearing the image of President Bola Tinubu, leading to expressions of anger and disappointment. Some of the youths tore the T-shirts, while others threatened to boycott the run.\n\nThere was also a report of congratulatory messages sent by Saudi Arabian leaders to the President of Cyprus on his country's Independence Day.",
