"account": "Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury urged Trinamool Congress supremo Mamata Banerjee on Thursday to rejoin the Congress party, along with her remaining MLAs and MPs. Chowdhury, a former state Congress president, expressed confidence that the Congress would accept Banerjee's leadership in West Bengal, as the party is ready to work under her. The TMC is currently facing a deep organizational crisis following its defeat in the 2026 Assembly elections, with separate rebellions in its legislative and parliamentary wings. Chowdhury argued that there is no need for a separate entity at this moment and that Banerjee should join the Congress to work with her leadership in Bengal. TMC MP Sougata Roy, however, stated that the party would consider the proposal only if it came formally from the Congress leadership. The TMC's internal crisis has resulted in a split within its legislative and parliamentary wings, with rebel MLAs and MPs challenging Banerjee's leadership. The BJP has also used the Congress-TMC exchange to argue that the TMC has exhausted its political purpose.",
