"summary": "A 27-year-old man, Awudu Baba, is in police custody after allegedly stealing five mobile phones, including an iPhone 6, iPhone 6 Plus, Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, and Samsung A12. According to the Central East Regional Police Commander, DCOP Francis Nchor, Awudu was arrested at a police checkpoint along the Kasoa-Bawjiase Highway at around midnight on September 19, 2026. After his arrest, Awudu swallowed the SIM cards from the stolen phones. Police officers found the smartphones during the arrest and are now working to establish the circumstances of the alleged theft and trace the rightful owners of the devices. The police are urging residents who may have lost their mobile phones in the Awutu Bawjiase area to report to the command, and those who believe their phones may be among those recovered are encouraged to contact the police with relevant details.",
