The operation, which took place on Wednesday night in Kenyasi, a town within the district, targeted a suspected drug hideout. While seven suspects were taken into custody, several others managed to escape upon spotting the police presence.\n\nSpeaking to journalists in Kenyasi on October 1, Asutifi North District Police Commander Superintendent Harold Yamoah Ponkor revealed that the operation was part of increased night patrols designed to boost police visibility and deter criminal behavior in the area. Superintendent Ponkor emphasized that the operation was also a strategic move within a series of planned efforts to dismantle suspected criminal hideouts and eliminate drug peddlers and other groups engaged in criminal activities within the district.\n\nSuperintendent Ponkor assured the public that the seven suspects would be processed for court processing by either today or tomorrow, while the police persist in their pursuit of those who managed to evade capture. He stated that the ongoing operations would continue as the police strive to maintain security and curb criminal activities in the district.",
