"account": "The University of Buenos Aires has announced it will honor Argentina's football star Lionel Messi with an honorary doctorate. The prestigious degree, the highest the university bestows, honors Messi's career and his significant impact on his country. The decision was unanimously approved by the university's Higher Council. Messi will receive the honor on October 6, just before Argentina's final match against Benin at the Monumental Stadium. The university lauded Messi as an example of \"excellence, perseverance, humility and ethical practice\" and a figure dedicated to representing Argentina. His contributions include leading Argentina to major international titles like the 2021 Copa América, 2022 FIFA World Cup, 2022 Finalissima, and 2024 Copa América, as well as Argentina's second-place finish in the 2026 World Cup. The university's Rector, Ricardo Gelpi, emphasized the institution's desire to recognize Messi beyond his football achievements. He noted Messi's humility, perseverance, and role as a symbol of Argentina's popular culture and national identity. The vice-rector of the university, Emiliano Yacobitti, emphasized Messi's representation of Argentina's values, both on and off the field. Yacobitti praised Messi for embodying the spirit of the Argentine national team and inspiring the nation. The honorary doctorate is part of a longstanding tradition among leading universities globally, recognizing individuals whose impact transcends their professional fields.",
