"account": "NAGOYA: Alex Eala, the first WTA title winner from Southeast Asia and a fan favorite, saw his hopes of a first Asian Games gold medal and a spot in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics tennis tournament end on Thursday. China's Wang Xiyu defeated the Filipino top seed 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. Eala, 21, was set to take home a second singles bronze and third overall medal, having previously won the mixed doubles bronze at Hangzhou three years ago. The match took place at Higashiyama Park Tennis Center. Eala expressed no regrets, stating she was happy to have experienced the support and competition for her country. She cited a drop in her performance level during the match as a factor in her loss. Wang will face Zhang Shuai, a 37-year-old former Wimbledon and Australian Open quarter-finalist, in the all-China final. Zhang, who has medaled in three previous Asian Games, including silver in 2018, has not ruled out playing in the next Games in Doha in 2030.",
