"account": "Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has urged the people of his state to prioritize peace and unity in order to foster socio-economic development. Speaking in a goodwill message marking Nigeria's 66th Independence Anniversary, Fubara highlighted the importance of the celebration as an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the country's progress since gaining independence in 1960 and reaffirm their commitment to peaceful coexistence.\n\nFubara emphasized that Rivers State, often referred to as the \"treasure base of the nation,\" has consistently thrived when its diverse population lives in harmony. He stated that any meaningful development cannot occur in an environment characterized by hostility, division, and political strife.\n\nWhile acknowledging that political disagreements are inherent in a democratic system, Fubara stressed that such differences must never compromise the collective welfare of the state. He noted that his administration has been guided by the principle of peace, which he described as the most invaluable infrastructure for a society.\n\nUnder Fubara's leadership, Rivers State has attracted investments and executed projects across its three senatorial districts due to the relative peace enjoyed by the region. He called upon youths, traditional rulers, political leaders, and all stakeholders to serve as ambassadors of peace within their communities, wards, and local government areas, emphasizing that no one benefits when the state is in crisis.\n\nFubara further urged the people of Rivers State to continue supporting the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu, asserting that national unity and cooperation between sub-national entities are crucial for achieving the objectives of the Renewed Hope Agenda.",
