"summary": "Norway's parliament has started public hearings into connections between late US sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and Norwegian politicians and diplomats. The investigation follows the release of millions of Epstein-related documents by the US Department of Justice.\n\nThe hearings involve current and former ministers, including 11 officials who have held the positions of foreign minister or development aid minister since 2005, such as current Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Store. They are examining practices in the diplomatic service.\n\nAccording to the South China Morning Post, Epstein had ties with several high-profile Norwegians, including Terje Rod-Larsen, a former diplomat who headed the International Peace Institute, and his wife Mona Juul, who are under investigation for corruption. Epstein also had connections with former prime minister Thorbjorn Jagland.",
