"account": "On October 1, 2026, the Dallas Cowboys finalized a trade with the Pittsburgh Steelers to bring cornerback Joey Porter Jr. to Arlington. This move comes after the Cowboys struggled defensively last season following the trade of star edge rusher Micah Parsons. In addition to Porter, the Cowboys acquired Quinnen Williams, hired defensive coordinator Christian Parker, and brought in veterans like Rashan Gary. However, the Cowboys' defense remains 30th in the league. Porter, eligible for an extension after last season, missed the 2026 campaign due to a back injury. He recorded 165 tackles, 31 passes defended, three interceptions, and one sack in three previous NFL seasons. Currently, the Cowboys have a roster of cornerbacks: DaRon Bland, Cobie Durant, Shavon Revel, Ameer Speed, and Caelen Carson. Porter's addition could impact the NFC East, including the Washington Commanders, who also need cornerback help. Other teams linked to a Porter trade included the New York Giants and Detroit Lions. With the Cowboys' offense led by Dak Prescott, the division appears wide open, and the Cowboys' owner/general manager is determined to win another Super Bowl. The trade sent a 2027 sixth-round pick and a 2028 second-round pick to the Steelers.",
