"account": "The Borno State Police Command defended its actions in the arrest of five men in Maiduguri, stating that the individuals were not detained due to their political beliefs, but rather for alleged possession of illicit substances and behavior that posed a threat to public order. According to a statement released by the command's spokesperson, Nahum Daso, on September 25, 2026, the suspects were apprehended during a regular patrol in the West End Roundabout area of Maiduguri. During the arrest, authorities discovered 15 dried leaf wraps believed to be Indian hemp, 100 tablets suspected to be D5, a shisha pipe, a pair of scissors, and two T-shirts bearing the message \"Tinubu Must Go.\" Following a preliminary investigation, the suspects were charged to court. Daso emphasized that the Borno State Police Command is committed to upholding professionalism, impartiality, accountability, and the protection of lives and property. The command clarified that the decision to prosecute the suspects was based on the evidence gathered during the investigation and not on their political affiliation or viewpoint.",
