"account": "A former teacher in Lagos, Nwatu Isaac, has been sentenced to life imprisonment for sexually assaulting an eight-year-old pupil. The offense took place in March 2022 at El-Bossaa Nursery and Primary School, Epe. Justice Rahman Oshodi ruled that the prosecution had proven Isaac's guilt beyond reasonable doubt, based on the victim's testimony and medical evidence. Isaac was found guilty of defiling the girl, as established by the two key elements: the victim's young age and the sexual act. The court rejected Isaac's alibi and defence of tribal sentiment, dismissing conflicting witness accounts and lack of DNA evidence. The judge emphasized the trust Isaac had exploited to commit the heinous crime and ordered the victim and her family to receive necessary protection and support.",
