"account": "The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has begun preparations for the upcoming 2026 basic training programme for new recruits, with trainers from various disciplines assembling in Lagos. The retreat, held in Ikeja on Wednesday, brought together trainers responsible for areas such as drill, medicals, security, sports, and more. Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, emphasized the importance of collaboration and knowledge sharing among trainers, urging them to work as a team to produce officers the Service and society could be proud of. Adeniyi stressed that working in silos could undermine desired results, highlighting the need for a united approach. The NCS previously trained trainers in segments, but the new initiative aims to bring all trainers under one roof to promote a common understanding and ensure coordinated efforts towards the same objective. Adeniyi recalled the success of trainees from 2008 and 2009, attributing it partly to the collaboration between trainers. He urged trainers to provide open-minded contributions, encouraging them not to dismiss or condemn the views of their colleagues.",
