"account": "The Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (Petroan) has initiated talks with Azikel Refinery, located in Bayelsa State, to establish a direct supply arrangement for locally refined petroleum products. Dr. Billy Gillis-Harry, the National President of Petroan, led a delegation to the refinery in Yenagoa for discussions with Azikel Refinery's Chairman, Dr. Eruani Godbless, and senior management. The meeting centered on the refinery's development, operational plans, and potential collaboration opportunities. A key aspect of the discussions revolved around a proposed offtake arrangement, which would grant Petroan members access to refined petroleum products from the refinery, contingent on mutually agreed commercial, technical, and operational terms. Dr. Gillis-Harry emphasized Petroan's dedication to partnering with indigenous refineries to bolster the downstream petroleum sector and enhance access to locally produced products. He highlighted the significance of constructing a sustainable relationship that would benefit both the refinery and retail outlets. Dr. Godbless welcomed the Petroan delegation and underscored the importance of establishing strategic relationships with petroleum products retail outlets as Azikel Refinery advances its operations. Both parties concurred on the necessity of ongoing dialogue to tackle the commercial and operational aspects of the proposed offtake agreement. This partnership development aligns with Nigeria's broader efforts to expand domestic refining capacity and strengthen local supply of petroleum products, with Petroan actively engaging with various stakeholders across the downstream petroleum value chain.",
