"summary": "The Pentagon has announced the creation of a new autonomous warfare command, named Autonomous Warfare Command (Autowarcom), to oversee and coordinate drone development and use in overseas operations. This four-star combatant command, headed by a four-star general, will be tasked with managing and consolidating drone development under a $54.6 billion budget for the 2027 fiscal year, up from $226 million this year. Pentagon Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth introduced the command during his State of the Forces speech at the Marine Corps Base Quantico in Virginia, emphasizing the need for \"bolts of lightning high\" capabilities to strike unexpectedly and decisively. Hegseth also criticized the press, calling coverage of the Iran war a \"national betrayal\" and claiming it to be \"anti-American treason.\" Additionally, he announced plans to cut the number of slots for generals and admirals by 20%, allowing some posts to be filled with lower-ranking officers.",
